I went for jogging one morning when I visited the old town of Suzhou, a scenic ancient city near Shanghai. It was too early that I didnโt get a chance to visit the old temple I found on a small street, but I love the morning light on the bright red wall of the old temple and the interesting shadows the red lantern casted on the wall. Inspiration everywhere ๐

I went for bushwalk in the neighbourhood and noticed these two rainbow lorikeets checking out their home in a tree trunk. Maybe itโs their new home, maybe they already have babies in it. Sweet home ๐

I love to visit the small villages in China where I could still find traditional houses with typical red lanterns hanging outside every house. It feels steeping back in time.

Beautiful day for plein air with the group. It is such a joy to join likeminded artists and explore new hidden gems known only to locals. I love Swain Gardens in spring, azaleas as tall as buildings and flowers cascade like waterfalls. The peach blossoms have the most delicate pink. There were only the birds and the wind, and a few locals walking their dogs. A lovely lady took some photo of me painting and said that was the most beautiful view in the garden :)

Beautiful morning around the Sydney harbour.. And spring is here! Suddenly all the natives burst into flowers. A pair of rainbow lorikeets found a new home in the tree hole beside me. Probably soon there will be baby lorikeets ๐

Whatโs better than this? Plein air on a sunny Sunday morning, surrounded by the fragrance of wisteria, birds jumping in the tree, pink petals falling on my head ๐ A young girl came out to put out her laundry on the clothesline and she walked into my painting :)

What a gorgeous spring day for plein air and some coastal walk! The slope is covered with wildflowers, the Sydney harbour is at its most beautiful. I canโt help but feel so lucky to live in this beautiful city ๐๐๐

I went for a walk after painting plein air at Sirius cove and these three happy dogs grabbed my attention . Love watching them fighting for the same stick like there is no other better stick in the whole world ๐. It turned out the black puppy is only six month old and she just had her first swim under the guidance of the other two. Reminds me of the gold Labrador my husband used to have, she used to teach the neighborsโ dog to swim. How sweet ๐

Canโt believe it was one month ago that we spent days watching jaguars. I didnโt know why our boat driver steered the boat into a quiet small river. There was no other boat, it seemed nothing was happening. Then suddenly out of nowhere this jaguar jumped out and dashed into the water. We didnโt even see what he was trying to catch. He retreated on to a tree empty-handed, but he didnโt seem to care and started doing what cats do: licking and cleaning his paws and face. It was magical, only us watching this big cat grooming, less than 10 meters away ๐

This must be the inspiration of Avatar! It was mesmerising to watch the red-and-blue macaws flying at Buraco das Araras, a massive geological sinkhole famous for the macaw residents. We were so lucky to even witness a red-and-blue macaw pairing with a blue-and-yellow macaw, which is very rare in the wild. Have to paint these two love birds ๐๐๐

Lovely Jacaranda in front of a bright yellow house in the Hunters Hill. Went to see it again and found the jacaranda tree gone. Sometimes I feel I am capturing history, an old house gone, a broken jetty sank, a beautiful tree gone. There is sadness but there is beauty in it.

After delivering a Bondi painting to the eastern suburbs, I decided to go for a walk along the coast. I parked the car and opened the door, this Yellow-tailed black cockatoo was having breakfast right in front of my eyes! What a treat! I always love their yellow cheek patch, but never got the chance to observe so close. The cheeky bird was not camera shy at all, took its time to enjoy the banksia. Unfortunately its partner was annoyed by some noisy miners on the other tree and decided to find a quieter spot. Such a beautiful sight watching them flying over the waves ๐๐๐
