Went for a morning jog and saw these two cockatoos having a feast on a blossoming cherry tree. This is probably the best image for a Sydney spring. I just stood there enjoying watching them. A young girl walked out to put up her laundry. By the time she finished and walked back, I was still there watching. She was pretty amused but I found her fitting perfectly for the painting in my mind and asked to take a photo of her. So she walked into my painting the next day 😂

I always love this beautiful terrace at the corner of a North Sydney street. Every spring the wisteria blossoms cover the brick wall and makes the house even more charming. Finally got the chance to paint it at its best. What beats painting outside in a sunny day with the fragrance of the wisteria. A grandpa walked by with a cute little girl and he later told me My granddaughter wanted to see “that girl and her painting again!” Then the lovely owner of the house came out with her dog and invited me into the house. The fun of plein air painting 😊

If you are a jacaranda fan, you most probably know McDougall Street. I finally got the chance to paint en plein air a few times when the jacaranda were in full blossom. One day I saw this young mother rode by on a bike with two little kids in the back seat. I thought she came especially to this street to show the kids the beautiful blossoms. Then the second day I saw her again and I realized she probably is a local and this is her usual route sending her kids to school. I was quick enough to snap a few photos of the young family and they become my most favourite subject of the year :)

I always love this lavender I planted for a few years but this year it really shows its potential and burst into a sea of delicate pink, mauve, purple and bees love them. Don’t need to go anywhere to search for inspiration. It’s right in my garden! 😍

I went for bushwalk in the neighbourhood and noticed these two rainbow lorikeets checking out their home in a tree trunk. Maybe it’s their new home, maybe they already have babies in it. Sweet home 😍

Beautiful day for plein air with the group. It is such a joy to join likeminded artists and explore new hidden gems known only to locals. I love Swain Gardens in spring, azaleas as tall as buildings and flowers cascade like waterfalls. The peach blossoms have the most delicate pink. There were only the birds and the wind, and a few locals walking their dogs. A lovely lady took some photo of me painting and said that was the most beautiful view in the garden :)

Beautiful morning around the Sydney harbour.. And spring is here! Suddenly all the natives burst into flowers. A pair of rainbow lorikeets found a new home in the tree hole beside me. Probably soon there will be baby lorikeets 😍

What’s better than this? Plein air on a sunny Sunday morning, surrounded by the fragrance of wisteria, birds jumping in the tree, pink petals falling on my head 😍 A young girl came out to put out her laundry on the clothesline and she walked into my painting :)

What a gorgeous spring day for plein air and some coastal walk! The slope is covered with wildflowers, the Sydney harbour is at its most beautiful. I can’t help but feel so lucky to live in this beautiful city 😍😍😍
