Kirribilli-McDougall Street in Jacaranda season
If you are a jacaranda fan, you most probably know McDougall Street. I finally got the chance to paint en plein air a few times when the jacaranda were in full blossom. One day I saw this young mother rode by on a bike with two little kids in the back seat. I thought she came especially to this street to show the kids the beautiful blossoms. Then the second day I saw her again and I realized she probably is a local and this is her usual route sending her kids to school. I was quick enough to snap a few photos of the young family and they become my most favourite subject of the year :)

Little girl picking flowers at Clontarf beach
$490.00I was painting en plein air at the beach. A little girl ran over to pick the flowers right beside me. Love her chubby pink cheek and the pretty pink dress in the light, picture perfect. I am so grateful that her father was happy for me to take some photos as my next painting inspiration. I even got time to add her in the plain air piece 😍

Sailing in Jacaranda
$1,200.00Jacaranda season is definitely my favourite time of the year. I love to watch the local sailing club having their weekly gathering and they timed it so well at the sunset time. The white sails turned golden by the setting sun and it must be the most romantic thing to glide on the water, both sides dotted with purple blossom. I remember watching two sailing boats lingered around before heading back, circling around each other as if dancing a waltz on water. It was breathtakingly beautiful. I had to pinch myself to convince myself I was not dreaming.

Spring in Swain Gardens
$540.00Beautiful day for plein air with the group. It is such a joy to join likeminded artists and explore new hidden gems known only to locals. I love Swain Gardens in spring, azaleas as tall as buildings and flowers cascade like waterfalls. The peach blossoms have the most delicate pink. There were only the birds and the wind, and a few locals walking their dogs. A lovely lady took some photo of me painting and said that was the most beautiful view in the garden :)

Sunrise at Bondi beach
Taking a walk along the famous Bondi to Brontë coastal walk in the early morning. Love the clouds and the soft light at the sea. Waves lapping gently at the beach, only early risers get enjoy the beautiful sunrise :)

Sydney Harbour
$620.00Sydney is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and Sydney harbour definitely is the main reason. It is beautiful from every angle and I especially like this aerial view from the Gladesview bridge. Love the morning light on the shimmering water with all the sailing boats and everything else turned into silhouette. This turned the painting into almost black and white, a bit like traditional Chinese painting :)
