Dolomites Skiing
$540.00Australia just won the first gold medal in the winter Olympic and the name Livigno brought back sweet memories when I lived in North Italy. I went to Dolomites with a group of friends from Rome. I was into skiing but was not good enough to try all the black pista. It was this group of friends who encouraged me and brought me to the tracks that were used in the Winter Olympics. After that, black never scares me any more and it felt reborn with new freedom 😊 Dolomites become one of my most favourite ski destinations and it is beautiful year around. Even painting it makes my heart yearning for its beauty.

Gingko Trees at Old Temple in Shanghai
$540.00Joined urban sketchers Shanghai for the first time last Saturday in a thousand year old temple with two 700 year old gingko trees. It felt so special to paint plein air in a temple where the monks walked by and said they like my paintings. A young family with a little girls watched behind me for almost half an hour! The girl had so many questions that I was having so much fun answering her questions. I added the young family and their dog in the painting although they don’t have a dog. The girl said she would get one now 😂😂😂So much fun!

House with Wisteria in North Sydney
I always love this beautiful terrace at the corner of a North Sydney street. Every spring the wisteria blossoms cover the brick wall and makes the house even more charming. Finally got the chance to paint it at its best. What beats painting outside in a sunny day with the fragrance of the wisteria. A grandpa walked by with a cute little girl and he later told me My granddaughter wanted to see “that girl and her painting again!” Then the lovely owner of the house came out with her dog and invited me into the house. The fun of plein air painting 😊

Hyacinth Macaw
$540.00Just back from a six-week trip to South America. I found it so funny when I woke up and saw the red light under the TV, my first thought was “oh, crocodile!” Then I realized I was not in Brazil any more and I was a bit disappointed. I never expect this Brazil trip would leave such a huge impact on me. It was like stepping into Zootopia and I’ve never been surrounded by so many wildlife in my life! Among all the beautiful birds, Hyacinth Macaw is probably my favourite. They are beautiful, they are cheeky, and when they fly, that blue in the sky! They were almost driven to extinction and only a thousand left in the wild once. Thanks to the dedication of many wildlife lovers, we are lucky to be able to see them in the wild again 😍

Kirribilli-McDougall Street in Jacaranda season
If you are a jacaranda fan, you most probably know McDougall Street. I finally got the chance to paint en plein air a few times when the jacaranda were in full blossom. One day I saw this young mother rode by on a bike with two little kids in the back seat. I thought she came especially to this street to show the kids the beautiful blossoms. Then the second day I saw her again and I realized she probably is a local and this is her usual route sending her kids to school. I was quick enough to snap a few photos of the young family and they become my most favourite subject of the year :)
